Vintage Ad Collection

Info

During my second semester, I had an advertising class where every week we'd need to find an ad and do a small write up about it- while my friends found this annoying and wrote a couple sentences per ad (as they should, it was only for a paritcipation mark), I had to constantly be changing the font size and tracking and deleting sentences because I had so much to say. A bit part of this was tracking down the sources for some vintage print ads that got spread around a lot as memes.

As you can see, I have a specific interest in old tech and video game ads, since it's pretty interesting to see what was being advertised then as the hot new thing, verses now when the tech is obsolete. I also find these ads really valuable for my own design work- you have to understand how things were done first before you do it for yourself. All ads when clicked open to their source on the internet archive, and some of them will have captions detailing my own experience tracking the ad down, or other commentary I have on it. Enjoy!

These are currently the only ads I have in the collection, but I'm planning to add more, so stay tuned!
